CSS Logos
After reading Ethan Macotte’s article on Responsive Web Design and viewing the impressive iOS CSS Icons by Louis Harboe, I thought the two ideas could be combined on company websites.
Below you’ll see a list of CSS Logos I’m working on (more to come). While this site isn’t “responsive”, these logos can grow or shrink by simply changing a font size. Display a small logo on the iPhone, a medium logo on the iPad and a large logo on a wide screen display. Designer Doug Neiner has created a live demo with his CSS Olympic Logo to show just how well it can scale.
I’m not sure how practical this is at the moment, but I wanted to show what’s possible. Please view in the latest versions of Safari or Chrome. Firefox 3 or 4 will work too, but they have small glitches. Click and hold a logo to zoom.
